Enjoy More Space with the Right Office Shelving

Image
With most organisations currently looking to reduce outgoings, and working in less office space than previously, choosing the right office shelving for your business is hugely important. And, with more choice than ever on the market in terms of size and style, selecting office shelving systems can seem a challenge. But the good news is that, with today's solutions, you can find something that looks great as well as being practical, whatever your budget. There are also various materials to choose for office storage units, so you can opt for stainless steel, glass and so much more. Of course, you need to think about what sort of load you will be placing on the shelves, as well as whether you want something you can adjust or not. These days, with business needs changing all the time, for many organisations adjustable shelving is the way to go. You can then have the units at the height that's right for you. With space saving and practical modular units, you can change the h

Parents Admit "Borrowing" Money from Children's Money Boxes

Image
Mums and dads have come clean about being sometimes so broke they have had to take cash from their children's money boxes. A survey from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks carried out last year found that more than half of parents whose youngsters are aged between five and 12 admitted taking money that wasn't theirs. A total of 13% confessed to using the funds because they had no other resources. Equally, a minority of 3% of mums and dads admitted that they never returned the money to their kids. However, of course money boxes for children remain excellent presents for teaching children to save and to start learning about the value of money. They also make saving fun! And children could need all the help they can get while the national pocket money budget is currently a weekly tally of £40m, around a quarter of mums and dads have cut down on how much they give their offspring, reports the Tesco Bank. The UK weekly average is £5.80, mostly given in return for help with chores,

3 Reasons to Choose a Private Doctor

Image
It's unfair to draw too strict a distinction between private and public healthcare. In both cases, the medical professionals involved have been to the same medical schools, are using the same criteria to diagnose patients and generally share the same degree of skill, sensitivity and expertise. Of course, beyond the competence of the health professional there are differences between the nature of private and public healthcare. Convenience One of the biggest advantages with private care is the sheer convenience. A private doctor will not have a lengthy waiting list and very often you'll be able to see a doctor the same day you make an appointment. Also, private doctors tend to be free for consultation outside of normal working hours and they will be prepared to make home visits. Different Services Not all medical services are available on the NHS. There are obviously various factors that determine what medical issue deserves public treatment and what doesn't, the most

Why Take First Aid at Work Courses?

Image
If you run a smaller business you might be reluctant to invest in things like first aid at work courses, and might struggle to reconcile the cost of the course with the potential benefits. This is because many of the benefits associated with workplace first aid aren't directly financial, and are more to do with employee health and safety, employee esteem and even efficiency. On the one hand there is a legal requirement for first aid in the workplace. This covers access to health and safety equipment, e.g. a first aid box, and ensuring that staff are suitably trained in the use of equipment. Accidents happen in all kinds of businesses, from workshops to retail outlets, so first aid is a universal need. However, first aid is clearly more important in some industries and businesses than others. So, the nature of the course will vary depending on the requirement for first aid. In many businesses, basic first aid will suffice, and will considerably improve the overall health and saf

The Appeal of Plastic Sports Lockers

Image
Many more people these days are doing all they can to look fit and healthy. To profit from this desire to achieve a 'body beautiful', places like gyms and leisure centres need to tempt as many enthusiastic 'gym bunnies' into using their facilities as they possibly can. Of course, people will only want to frequent leisure and gym facilities that look appealing and make them feel comfortable. Naturally, any leisure venue that is unable to offer these two simple aspects to its potential (and current) customers will quickly find itself struggling to keep pace with rival operators. Although the provision of adequate equipment and facilities is unsurprisingly the most important aspect which prospective clients look for in a new gym, it is far from the only one. Indeed, many people see the changing areas of a leisure venue as being just as important as the apparatus and classes which are on offer. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that all leisure venues, both public
