Wet wipes caused dermatitis in children

Cause eczematous dermatitis in children can be preservatives that are used in some children's products, personal care and household products.

This was stated by experts from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington, USA.

In their report, they reported six cases of chronic persistent perianal or facial dermatitis in children after using wet wipes containing methylisothiazolinone in low concentrations. After the cessation of the use of napkins symptoms quickly disappeared. A similar case was recorded in Belgium.

Methylisothiazolinone used in the manufacture of cosmetics and household chemicals in the EU and is one of the common causes of contact allergy.
