Comparing the Samsung Galaxy S4 with the BlackBerry Z10

Still not decided on what Smartphone to purchase for your business communication setup? That is not highly unlikely since there are a number of choices that you can consider, and the process of selecting the best device that will address your business needs is harder than it sounds. First, you need to determine the problems that beset your enterprise and diagnose a cure for these communication problems. The next thing that you need to accomplish is to consult your business plan to see if the device purchase fits well within the projected time frame that you have set before.

Your first option when it comes to smartphones should, of course, involve the high-end and latest smartphones. This presupposes that the financial requirements are not a problem for your business. If you run or own a small or mid-sized business, then chances are that you would be scouting for more affordable Smartphone that do not compromise quality and can best integrate with the communication features offered by phone service providers.

Perhaps two of your most preferred smartphones, without considerations to financial restrictions, are the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the BlackBerry Z10. These two handsets represent the best (so far) of the two Smartphone companies. This review provides a comparative look at the two handheld devices.

Design. The Samsung Galaxy seems to be taken from the same world of the Samsung galaxy S3, only it is lighter and slimmer that its predecessor. It is rounded and pebble-like, made predominantly of plastic with a removable cover. Meanwhile, the BlackBerry Z10 more closely resembles the iPhone 5, with its square design. The BlackBerry 10 also sports a removable cover and is almost all black. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is the larger handset of the two, with a 5" screen and dimensions of 69.8 x 136.6 x 7.9mm and weighs 130g. The BlackBerry Z10, on the other hand, sports a 4.2" screen and measures 66 x 130 x 9.2mm and weighs 135g.

Display. Samsung Galaxy S4's 5" screen has a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p, which translates to a pixel density of 441ppi, which is less than that of HTC One. Meanwhile, the BlackBerry Z10 sports a 4.2" display that has a screen resolution of 1280 x 768p, which gives it a paltry pixel density of 355ppi, though this is better than the iPhone 5's. Despite this difference, both smartphones have great displays.

Performance. The Samsung Galaxy S4 boasts of an Exynos octa-core chip coupled with 2GB of RAM, which makes it one of the most powerful smartphones around today. On the other hand, the BalckBerry Z10 sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and also a 2GB RAM. Though this may be a lower-end chip, the Z10 is still a snappy device with little or no lags.

Storage. The Samsung Galaxy S4 edges out the BlackBerry Z10 when it comes to storage. The S4 comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. You can also expand the memory through a MicroSD card slot that can accommodate up to 64GB of additional memory. While the BlackBerry Z10 comes only in 16GB model, there is also a MicroSD card slot that can take up to 64GB of additional memory.

Camera. This has not always been the BlackBerry's strongest point, so the Samsung Galaxy S4 emerges as the winner in this department, with its 13MP rear-facing camera and 1.9MP front-facing shooter. The BlackBerry Z10 also does a good job improving on BlackBerry's camera performance, with its 8MP main camera.
