According to this source, they actually got hold of the HTC One mini and even took some photos of it and that is the reason the news is considered more credible than the previous rumours about the device.

The similarities of big HTC One and the Mini HTC One
  • According to the source, most of the features of the regular big HTC One are just similar to those of the HTC One mini. For instance, the attractive aluminium body of the devices are just the same with the same width but different lengths.
  • The 4megapixel ultra pixel camera of the regular big HTC One is just the same as the one of the HTC One mini and this makes the two devices to be similar.
  • The beats audio as well as the stereo speakers in both the regular and the small versions of the HTC One are just the same
  • The 2GB of RAM for the HTC One mini is just the same as the one of the regular big HTC One with only the change of the chipset to the dual-core.
