6 Easy Car Maintenance Tips

1. Often people look at the car's paint as just a decoration. However, this is not true. If you actually study about cars, you will come to know the importance of car paint. Remember car paint protects your car body from getting rusted. Thus, you need to take measures to protect your car paint. So, the question arises, How can you do this?

Well, this is not difficult. Just ensure that you always park your car in shade. Or else, use a car cover to protect your car from direct sunlight; reason - car paint can fade due to the harmful UV rays.

Note: most car manufacturers provide car cover which protects your car from several damages - rain, sunlight and bird droppings.

2. Be careful when you clean the light fixtures of the car. It is advisable that you use a wire brush to clean the dirty light sockets. Instead of the wire brush, you can also use steel wool for cleaning the lights.

Note: do not install the new bulb without cleaning the existing debris from the light socket.

3. Be careful when you replace the car battery. Choose a provider who is renowned in genuine battery sales.

4. Consider your car's load capacity before you put any heavy load on it. You can easily find the car's load capacity along with weight limit in the car manual. Read the manual to get this data.

Note: check the weight limit of the car's roof as well. This will prevent you from putting excess load on the car's roof. Remember that putting excess load in your car can damage it.

4. Do not be careless about windshield damage of your car. Even if there is a small crack or dent in the windshield, take your car immediately to the windshield repairer.

Note: if you do not want to spend much, consider restoring the existing windshield instead of replacing it altogether. Remember damage free windshield is important for clarity while driving.

5. Regularly wax your car to maintain the car paint. Remember that regular car waxing will slow the oxidation process. It will make your car body shiny and act as a layer between the car paint and external damaging elements - dust, bird droppings and so on.

Use a damp sponge to apply the wax on the car. Do not apply excess wax. Otherwise it will be difficult for you to remove the wax later. Remember excess wax can damage your car body.

Be careful when you are removing the wax from the car body. Use soft cloth to remove it without any scratch.

If you want a long lasting finish to your car, use the beating paste wax.

6. Be careful when you are tying any sharp instruments on the car roof. It is advisable that you cover the roof with any blanket before you tie down luggage bags.
