FDA will evaluate the risk of testosterone therapy

Administration experts by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will appreciate the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients receiving testosterone . FDA's decision was made after studying the results of two studies in which researchers have linked the hormone supplementation with high risk of stroke, heart attack and death, according to MedpageToday. In November last year in the journal published a study about the increased level of cardiovascular events and death among veterans who took hormones. Results of a further work, which appeared in January 2014 in the pages of PLOS One, have shown an increased risk of heart attacks among men (with heart disease in history), treated with testosterone. FDA does not specify exactly when the evaluation is completed the safe use of the hormone in the form of a gel for topical application, transdermal patch, injectable liquid and lozenges.
